Michael Manni Jr. Owner

From a young age, Michael Jr. immersed himself in the culture of LaSalle Bakery, inspired by his parents, the former owners. Starting as a pan boy, he grew to appreciate the hard work and joy of baking. Though he briefly explored other paths, his passion for LaSalle Bakery ultimately drew him back, and he now leads the business with a commitment to preserving its unique atmosphere and expanding its reach.

With over a decade of experience, Michael cherishes the sense of family among customers and employees alike. The welcoming environment at LaSalle, often lost in today's society, resonates with visitors who enjoy not only the outstanding food but also the ambiance. Michael credits the loyal patrons and dedicated staff for shaping the bakery into what it is today.

Michael actively collaborates with other bakeries, sharing best practices and continuously improving LaSalle's offerings. Drawing from his childhood experiences of visiting bakeries nationwide, he now facilitates exchange programs where LaSalle's team learns from others while also hosting visiting bakers. This commitment to learning and growth has made LaSalle Bakery truly exceptional.

Michael Manni Sr., Consultant

From his early days as a pan boy, Michael's passion for the craft and art of baking at LaSalle Bakery became clear. While pursuing a career as an art teacher, fate intervened when he was asked to take over the bakery. For the past 47 years, Michael and his wife, Cheryl, have dedicated themselves to the demanding and fulfilling world of baking, delighting customers with their heartfelt creations.

While the bakery remains their primary focus, Michael still finds time for his love of painting, attending art classes. His dedication to both baking and art showcases his unwavering passion for creativity and craftsmanship.

Among the many delectable treats at LaSalle, Michael's current craving is the irresistible cinnamon bun. Made with rolled Danish dough, cinnamon, raisins, and a vanilla glaze, it's a true delight for the senses.
